No dia 15 de Outubro de 2011, o movimento dos indignados de Espanha apelou à realização de uma jornada de protesto de dimensão mundial. Em Lisboa, o protesto intitulado "15 de Outubro, a Democracia sai à rua!" começou com um desfile entre a rotunda do Marquês de Pombal e São Bento. Mas às 18h30, os manifestantes invadem a escadaria da Assembleia da República e usam-na como anfiteatro para organizar uma assembleia popular. Algumas horas mais tarde, quando só ficam alguns manifestantes acampados à frente da escadaria entretanto reconquistada pela Polícia, encontram-se nas ruas desertas os placards que foram erguidos durante a manifestação. Meses depois, encontrámos uma fisga numa loja de turismo com a palavra Portugal gravada nela. Decidimos fazer um cartaz e intitulámo-lo "Souvenir".

On October 15, the Spanish indignados movement called for a day of global protest. In Lisbon, the protest named "October 15, Democracy goes out!" began with a march across the city. But at 6.30 pm, the protesters invaded the staircase of the Parliament and used them as an amphitheater to organize a general assembly. A few hours later, as only a few protesters were still camping in front of the stairs meanwhile recaptured by the police, the empty streets surrounding the Parliament were full of placards that had been held during the demonstration. Months after, we found a slingshot in a tourist shop with the name of Portugal engraved on it. We decided to make a poster and called it ‘Souvenir’.
